Process overview

Products arrive from a portion cutter, which slices raw material into smaller portions. In some cases, larger pieces are simply halved.

The system transfers portions to a high-speed infeed conveyor, which ensures a consistent spacing of at least 400 mm between items. This controlled flow enables precise downstream handling and accurate sorting.

Each product passes through a photocell-triggered weighing unit, which registers the product’s weight and transmits the data to the sorting controller using standard communication protocols (RS232, RS422, RS485, etc.).

The portions are then sorted into 6 programmable weight channels, with room for up to 100 custom sorting programs. The sorting arm is precisely timed to ensure accurate, smooth redirection of the product, and the system can handle multiple items on the sorting belt at the same time.
